What can you expect during Carnival in Blankenberge?

• Saturday – The Kick-off of Carnival: The celebration begins with the traditional uithaling, followed by the opening of the carnival fair and the appointment of Prince Carnival.
• Sunday – The Grand Carnival Parade: The highlight of Carnival! From around 14:00, the colourful carnival procession will march through the streets of Blankenberge, including Franchommelaan and Weststraat. Local carnival groups create a spectacular parade with impressive floats and exuberant costumes that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
• Monday – Children's Carnival Parade: Monday is all about the youngest revelers. The children's carnival parade will pass through the city around 15:00, where little carnival fans can fully enjoy themselves in cheerful outfits.
• Tuesday – Vuûle Jeanetten: On Tuesday, around 15:00, the Vuûle Jeanetten take over the streets! This playful and sometimes mischievous tradition, where men dress as shabby women, causes hilarity and fun in the centre of Blankenberge.
• Closing Party – Prince Burning and Fireworks: A week later on Saturday, the Carnival officially ends with the Prince Burning at the beach, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
